Hi Y'all,I'm new to the Group & Thank You for letting me join.I have a 94' K5 & was having front end noise which I thought it was a Ball-Joint.Turns Out the Frame is starting to Rot Out Around the Steering Box Bolts( 2 ) from what I can see. There still seems to be a lot of meat left on the outside of frame.Has anybody have any good suggestions for a fix??.I Love This Truck & Want To Save It.I'm in Far Northern Illinois by Wisconsin border.Thank You.

Is it a GMT400 K1500 Blazer? There was no K5 in '94.
GMT400's are the IFS trucks with a boxed front frame. You probably have to Fab up some plates and weld them up on both sides.

It's a 1500,I'll have to get back under there & look.My other ? is ,if you weld the plates on isn't that going to affect the steering column????.

yeah there are 2 styles of 4wd. One with a mono beam axle normally mounted leaf springs and the whole axle moves up and down, on the springs.

Then there is the IFS, Independent Front Suspension. This style has the differential hard mounted to the cross member and cv style axles to the front wheels, and use other than leaf springs, usually torsion springs.

Your 94 blazer is probably the GMT400 with IFS if So the ORD plate will not help you. Someone here will have some advice.
