Frankenliner build thread. Up for sale.

ahh, I was gonna say man I feel like a slacker, not sure I could get all the wheels off in a half hour lol

the tire swap on / off the rim is the easy part .

the lug nuts / air out / air in / and install up on the axle hubs / lug nuts / hand torque lugs to 450-500 ftlb range on most big trucks ............. thats the kick your but part . :deal:

back in my tire days i did a g-30 cut away box truck van DRW 6 new tires in just under 1hr by my self  . pull in and rack up / buzz nuts off / drop all 6 cores / pop weights / bust down / go grab 6 new from next building out back / install and air up / balance / install and hand install all 32 plastic gm lug nut covers / pull out and park it . the front counter was blown away :cool1:....... and my trick was do stuff in sets . drop cores / break down / mount / balance all them each step together . i could do 4 tires average 8min faster than other guys could .

Used the Frankenliner to pick my 48 Suburban in Virginia last month. It developed an air leak under the drivers seat and an exhaust leak.

Seat air leak is an easy fix when the new lumbar air valve gets here.

Exhaust was a little more involved. Ended up having to pull everything from the turbo to the muffler. Luckily I had never changed the fender that was destroyed when the front tire let go. So I took the old fender off to get to the exhaust a little easier. Turbo clamp released, no big deal. "S" turn down/back pipe looked like it might be cracked, so I started there. The next clamp to the flex tube came off ok. Next clamp to he rigid straight pipe was no bueno. The bolts would spin in the clap but a broke a Snap-On and craftsman box wrench trying to get those 2 loose. Remove the clamp at the 45* turn down. Found this.

This was inside of the flex to the next 45* elbow into the muffler. What kind of idiot does this instead of cutting it off?

The first flex was split about 8 inches into it. New parts were picked up and it is going back together.

This is just fkd up.

I like you didn’t need a class 1 to drive it. Class 3 with air is what we call it in Canada anyway.
I’m sure the new owners will be happy with it!

That truck is bad ass. First time I put eyes on it, I fell in love with it and the concept. Bad ass.
