Free Motor...

Theres room upstairs Mikey! I have 3 of them and may use one or all for buggy projects in the future. Of course there is the other motor option but maybe I shouldn't go there.:haha:

I was thinking about buying that $300 one from you guys for a while and giving it a valve job (and I still might) but $0 with the accessory brackets, intake, and injectors is really hard to pass up. Hell, I might snag it and swap all the crap over to one of yours.

I could definitely go with the other motor...if any of you clowns would tell me what it is. :doah:

We've given you every clue imaginable. I can't believe you haven't figured it out yet.

:haha: :haha: :haha:

Figure it out ya slacker!!

Just don't go upstairs, wouldn't want you to see it.

not :flipoff2:

well, for a 4.3 stroker, you could always get a set of connecting rods with the Quad 4 bearing size of 1.899 inches, and offset grind the journal mains on the crankshaft for added stroke which yeilds i believe a 4.6-4.8L sixer, id have to actually crunch numbers here and im way to sick to bother but its an option :)

as for the cracks and journals and whatnot, the R code 350 im using to build a 302 for my IROC had a set of collapsed lifters from a coolant leak, and the rest of the engine is solid. Im redoing the bearings and such simply because there was coolant in the oil, and im building it from scratch so better safe than sorry. but im certainly not worried about the heads. or the engine overall.

im not saying its never happend, im just saying that its not a regular occurance. and someone shouldnt shun the 4.3 because of fear of a cracked head or spun bearing.

for the 302, the breakdown is....
block - 1999 tahoe 350 (R code vortec)
heads - 1999 tahoe 350 (R code vortec)
crank - 1994-1996 L99 4.3L V8 (baby LT1)
connecting rods - 6.125in H rods
pistons - as yet undecided flat top pistons for an 11:1 compression
Cam - custom hydrolic roller with the same lift and durration as the old Z28 30/30 cam.
Intake - accell super ram (its the modern equivalent to the DZ302 dual quad cross ram intake used back in the 60's)
exhaust - probly a custom set of large tube headers into a H pipe crossover and out used nascar side pipes. or the GMMG inc. chambered cat back exhaust using actual 1969 replacement chambered tubes.
