Free Parts. Edit: Ol Blue is gone, pics are up. Now Weights Too.

I've got to put the front end back on the pontoon boat, launch it, recover the trailer bunks, put it back on the trailer, and finish redesigning and rebuilding the front tie point this weekend.

In between all that, I will try to dig up the scales and weight the wheel and post it here. Then you can check the shipping cost to make sure its worth it, and PM me the address.

Its going to be the easiest of all the parts to ship. Fairly compact, and reasonably tough.
Just make sure it does not get scratched up, and it should be fine.

The grill now................
I'm still thinking about how to pack that.

Well, nothing to report so far.
The weekend did not go as well as it might have. The heat, my bad leg, and whatever the heck is wrong with my right arm, combined to put me down for the count after the boat trailer repair.
Then, Monday, was Monday. Got home after dark.
Tuesday was later, but Wed. should be free.................

Had to go back to town Wed., was backing out from the office, and hit the down button on the driver side window.
Motor went down, window didn't.
Tapped on it, it tried to fall down in the door.
I caught it, raised it up, headed home.

Got here, pulled the panel off, found the bracket that is glued to the glass had pulled off.
Then the thunderstorm hit.
Stormed most of the day today, made it into town and got the glass reglued.

OK, Friday is the day I am going to pack up some parts, weigh them and post the weights.

Except that I just got a call from the tool and die shop I consult for and one of their main CAM machines is down and they need it fixed tomorrow...........

Honest, I will get to the parts just as soon as I get all the other fires put out........

Just checking in, you still in to ship that steering wheel? How about I just give you 20? I can't see shipping being that much, can you? It could be to 34715 or 08002

Yep, still in on all the parts.
Right after I got all ready to start packing and weighing, Life stuck its ugly nose in. I had to move all that and some other stuff to a back burner.

In fact, I was in town trying to clear some stuff up when I got the call about my friend with the FBI virus I mentioned in the lounge.

I should have been home doing stuff.
But, going in on Sunday should free up Monday. So, let me see what I can get done. Glad you wrote, I had not forgotten, but it had not been moved up as fast as it should have been.

Let me get the weight and then we will see what the cost should be. With any luck, I can have everything weighed tomorrow.

Sorry its taking so long, but I think I have a shot at some free time now.

I have not even been able to do as much here as I like. I'm on a lot, but I'm also on the phone or working other sites as I do.
Which makes the quality of my suggestions suffer.....

Everybody interested, watch this space and I hope to start posting something tomorrow.
Actually, today, since its after 1 on Monday morning now.

Assuming I don't catch West Nile. I turkey hunt in the spring, and have seen mosquitoes so thick that it was hard to see through them, and have seen a turkey coming by the cloud of them over his head before I could see him.

The ones here at the farm are not quite up to that level yet, but they are the worst I have ever seen.
It takes me maybe 20 seconds to go from my back door to the car, and this morning I counted 37 mosquitoes in the car when I got in.

Since the parts are out in a shed..........I am going to have to bring them in the house to do any work on them.

OK, still killing skeeters that came in the house with me. I thought they were bad when I was pulling the parts.........

Quick and dirty weigh job on the steering wheel and horn button makes it close to 6 lbs.
Heavier than I thought.
Added 1lb, actually 1.5lb, since the wheel was 5.5, for box, packaging, ran the numbers for your zip at 7 lbs.

Came to $13.92 ground.
That gives us an idea. I will refine that after I get a box and packing. They also wanted dimensions, but since I don't have the box yet, I just went with weight.

I will scrounge up a box, should have one, I try not to throw any good ones away, and will work up a final weight.

BTW, FWIW, Metrodps's sister is basically across the Turnpike from you a couple of miles.
Wish he was headed to visit her, I could meet him on I-10 somewhere, and he could take the wheel too.

If he does not chime in, I'll PM him after a while.

I'm going to weigh the rest of the stuff in a few minutes. Friend of mine just called and is having a problem.
I'm on the phone to him while typing this.....

They are in England now and expect them back in a week or two. It would be them going from Fl to Colorado or Ohio. Heck I might have to get it shipped too!

Ok, here are the rough weights. Don't forget that the packaging will add some, maybe a pound or two.
It will be shipping from 32405, UPS.

When I find the boxes, and get them more or less boxed up, I will reweigh them and give the dimensions.

Don't forget, I have effectively nothing invested in these, so if the price seems to high, just let me know its not worth it.
Won't bother me, or cost me anything.

I'm posting the weights seperately, in case you only want part.

The chrome rim pieces are about 2lbs each for 4. Total about 8lbs

The mirrors are about 2.5lbs each, for two. Total about 5lbs

The little plastic cover is close to .5lbs.

The turn signal lights are about 1.25lbs each for two. Total about 2.5lbs.

And, of course, the steering wheel and horn button is about 5.5.

I did not weight the grill, since its probably going to be more about the size than the weight.
Plus I have not finalized how I am going to pack it. I could build a case that would let it be launched into orbit without damage, but the cost would be way more than a new one, and it would weight a bunch.

I need to scrounge up some stiff light cardboard or something and figure something out.
I'm a packrat, bound to have something stashed somewhere that will work.

Everybody look over the weights, go here, if the link works.

https://wwwapps.ups.com/ctc/request?loc=en_US&WT.svl=PNRO_L1

Fill in the zips, hit update, then hit 2 at the bottom and enter the weight. That should give you an estimate of the cost.

If you want to see more pics, just let me know. Pics don't cost anything either.

If it all looks good so far, send me a PM with the address, and I will repost the final weight after I pack it to make sure there are no surprises.

I doubt that my weight will be exactly the same as the UPS store, but it should be close.
