Santa brought me a fancy shmancy new cordless Dremel (insert Tim The Toolman Taylor grunt here) so my old one needs a new home.

It also comes with another one just like it, only cleaner. As I recall the other one doesn't want to turn. Maybe it needs new brushes? This being Dremel I'm sure you can get any parts for it. Consider this best for the tinkerer or Dremel nerd. No bits or anything, just corded Dremels.

Anyway, first guy to PM me their snail mail addy gets a box mailed to them with one running-but-dirty and one guaranteed-not-to-run Dremel, plus whatever else I find in the garage :haha:

Was going to post up and say keep them.

Is the cordless one you have any good?

The cheap cordless one i bought is garbage. Will get me by in a pinch, when i don't have power, but thats about it.

I got the 8220, think it is, and so far it's been good to me. The batteries last okay when sanding, though the cutoff wheels seem to wear them down pretty quick. But they're Li-ion, so they charge quick enough.

I had a little NiCd Dremel a hundred years ago and it was crap, so yeah, I was leery of the cordless ... but cordless is SOOO much easier than running an extension cord to whatever you're working on and futzing about. Plus the new one separates the on/off from the speed control, which I find very handy, and has a little clear acrylic spark shield that can screw on the head, and is generally a better tool than the old one.

Time will tell though :dunno:
