Freightliner diesel idle speed Q?

From what I hear from customers with trucks that consume the new DEF, they drink it up pretty quick. Seems like it is going to hit some fleets with a heafty added "fuel" cost over the course of a year.

That DEF stuff is $27 for a 2.5gl container near my house. My RV takes it and really makes a difference in exhaust smell etc. However, it's just an RV and doesn't get used every day. I could see that being VERY costly, even with 55gl drum purchases.

As I understand it a good calibrated engine generally get a better fluid economy (DEF+diesel) than the general non SCR truck. But then again I work for one of the SCR-using, DEF-consuming, truck manufactures so I might get the wrong info..
