What about registering people for trails that they're not going to run what does that do to the permit ?
The BLM permit is a minimum up front, then an actual trail count of people. Then they send a bill to pay.
Grand county is a flat fee paid up front.
State Lands is a minimum up front, then an actual trail count. Has never gone over the minimum cost.
Insurance for each is a flat fee paid up front.

If they find out that you’re affiliated with blazerbash and running an unregistered, uninsured trail run, then it’s exactly the same as it has been explained for the last decade: an opportunity for some government agency to revoke the permit
I might be overstepping my place here.
After running it for years, I am going to throw my opinion out here.
There were people every year who stepped up to cover the event costs via the door prizes. Because there were always people trying to short cut their personal expenses for the trip and would not pay for all of the people or the trails they ran. But made it to the BBQ every year, because it is free. Thank you Watson family and ORD.

But that's exactly what is going to happen because there aren't any Trails up that are being registered for or wanting to go on it's the same list as last year so all of us if we paid for a trail will not be running the same Trail unless it happens to be lucky that we're running the same one as last year

The way I look at it is if you are on a trail with the Blazer Bash group you need to register yourself and any passengers because you are all going to count against the permit fee. If you're not going to be on a trail with the group, then I would encourage you to register as a guest. This helps with a count for the BBQ and helps support the event. There are some fixed costs like insurance and permit minimums that have to paid regardless of how many people are on a trail run. Heck even if you're not going to Blazer Bash you could purchase a passenger registration just to help out with the event costs.
