Here are couple quick shots of my new rear bumper. 2"x.120 tube. Any comments or additions? Finished the front bumper tonight thought I would add pics to the same thread. Hope to start on the sliders soon. [image]

Re: Rear Tube Bumper Pics

Re: Rear Tube Bumper Pics

Gotta any pics on how you did the diamond plate? I've been thinking about doing that to my truck this summer and I really like your work. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Re: Rear Tube Bumper Pics

That loooks real nice. Nice work on the diamond plate to! /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

Re: Rear Tube Bumper Pics

That is one of the best looking bumpers I have seen, hope you dont mind if I copy it /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
Only tip I have is to brace the sides of it, like a piece up tube from the end to the frame /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Re: Rear Tube Bumper Pics

Did you by any chance get that body from a guy over on pirate, or are you him? I swear I remember seeing that for sale there..

BTW nice bumper /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Re: Rear Tube Bumper Pics

Thanks for the comments,
1) On the gaps, I have thought about filling them in. I'm a little worried about getting carried away with the plate.
2) There is a post on this board with a few pics on the checker plate quarters. Search under my user name.
3) alf4444 I'd like to see pics of your front bumper. I started on mine tonight and not all that thrilled with the plan.
4) I probably should tie in the bumper ends. Do you think it would be foolish to tie in the bottom of the quarters also?
5) I think I posted the quarters on pirate also but not for sale. I bought the jimmy from a guy on this board named Brian Glass but I have now torn the damn thing apart - its a disease i'm tellin' ya.
6) And yes the shackle flip is homemade. There is a post on this board on them also. thanks, bboy

Re: Rear Tube Bumper Pics

Are you talking about bracing the quarter panel?? I would just weld a straight piece of tube from the end of the bumper and go straight to the frame. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Re: Rear Tube Bumper Pics

added front bumper pics

Here's what it looks like filled in w/side protection.
and adding a tube from the outside corner to the back is a most if you wheel it hard.
