a whyle back my friend bought a 75 3/4 ton with a 350, th350, np203, d44, 14bff. the owner told us the front end was broke. we tore it apart and found all the teeth on the pinion were sheard off. i gave him the gear set that i pulled out of mine. he had them installed, um mabe last month, then he called me the other night and said it did the same thing again. i am thinking either it has different gears front and rear, or hes got the 'case in hi-lock. i was wondering what you guys thought. any help would be appriciated.

It could be different gears front and rear. Pop the covers and check, its a lot easier than replacing gear sets.
Do you guys know how to properly replace gears (i.e. set backlash and pinion bearing preload, taking patterns etc.)? If not a gearset that isn't setup properly could fail very easily.
