ive been searching all day and im still not sure what i should do. i have a 79 suburban with a 6 inch lift. the front rubber lines are crap, and they are definatly too short. the best answer i have come up wiht would be to order screw on fittings and some stainless steel braided hose, and whip up a couple new ones. what do you recomend for the legnth with a 6 inch lift, and any recomendations for good priced hose/fittings would be greatly appreciated

Soft hose. I have the part around here somewhere. You could search for it as i have posed it before, but it would take hours as many time as this topic comes up.
I will see if i can find it
 
Sorry if I missed something,but why wouldn`t you just order a set of braided stainless steel brakelines for your `burb?I bought a set of lines for my `82 suburban chassis with 6" lift from Summit for less than $100 bucks.
 
Because when yours break it will cost you $50 minimum, mine will cost $25 max.
Because i am a cheap ass
Because i have heard many horror stories about the superlift braided lines breaking often

Actually the lines I have are from skyjacker not superlift.And in response to the original question by ATVaddict the lines are 29" long for a 6-8" lift.Although if the suspension really flexes you might consider making them a couple inches longer.
 
readymix - come on now if you were a REAL cheap ass, you woulda done what i did stock brake lines off another truck! :haha:

i got the part number off here for like a 93 IFS 2500 right side or something. $13 each i think. ive got 8" lift and have PLENTY of room. looks like they would work with 10" of lift easy.

ive got the part number around here some where.

search on here for the part number. under "brake lines" if not ill try to have it for you tomorrow.

i was gonna say why not extend the hard line out and extend the bracket with hole in it that holds the top end of the hose and retain stock length hose

but nevermiond if the ford ones will work and are only a whopping whole 13 bucks

I have the same ones. To add to the reasons above - for $25 you can carry a spare set.
 
Front brake hose:
These ones are for the left front of a 1994 2wd 1 ton and are around 25" long. $13.99 at Advance Auto. Napa wants $16.69.

ive got plently of room with them, and havent had any problems

but if you want to spend $100 on SS lines, be my guest. im 17 and trying to save money everywhere possible when it doesnt concern safety.

im 17 too and im also trying to save money...but i want good brakes, so the diy ss lines seemed like a good choice. i dont know what fittings i need though. the standard to AN is slightly confusing
