did it on mine man. ive done two that way and both have held up to 38s and a 383 playing with 475 crank hp. even in granny gear my original driveshafts held up fine. actually tore the slip part up but that's irrelevant to the cv jointsCool, that was the answer I was hoping for.
Anyone have pics? I'm not familiar with this situation.

What do you have under the front?? It looks like a HP Ford with driver side drop and the the shaft looks to be a passenger side drop from the pictures. Or it this an optical illusion????Ok here is the drive shaft still attached to the NP208.
I pulled the drive shaft and I will post detailed pictures of the stops on the cardan before and after as I go. $200 is a bit much to fork over when there is a possible free solution.
How I hadn't already broken it is beyond me. It had to be nearly maxed out on flat ground connected to the old 10 bolt. I twisted the crap out of it a few times
