front fender triming

I was able to cut the fender back to the firewall braces and still use the inner wells, u just have to cut a relief in them and bend them back. I did cut half of the lower fender support bracket away and then I used 22 gage steel and made new lips on the fenders.
That is definatley the best fender trimming job I've ever seen. I really like the lips on the edges just like the factory.

that looks really nice. ? is the fender cut back to match the inside of the wheel well?

Here's mine:

I cut the inner fender mounts and moved them towards the cab and rewelded them in. I am running 42"s with 6" of lift and some bump stops.

Thanks alot guys, I have another pic I found that shows the inner bracket I cut thru, I just used tape to find the line I wanted. I did a relief cut on the inside of the fender asn was able to bend the inner well back. the other weldind area u see is the patch I put where the inner well bolts to the front firewall brace.

Just did this myself about two weeks ago.

Get some of the wide (4"?) blue painters tape to protect the paint and then just measure out what you want to cut. I based my cuts off of a fixed distance from the body line that goes from front to rear of the truck. Worked well for me.

I used DeWalt .045" cutting wheels and some thicker other brand wheels when I couldn't get to Lowe's for more of the DeWalts. The thinner ones worked better, at least it seemed that way to me. If you get your initial cut going straight then chances are good that it'll just sorta pull the grinder along and your cut will be nice and straight. I kinda ****ed up mine and the driver's side rear fender isn't as straight of a cut as the others.
Beware as the grinder sorta convinces you to cut more than you had intended...
