front locker ???

my brother 72 hibrid blaze-up has just had a e-z locker installed in it ,my friend just did the same thimg to his 73 blazer , they went up on sunday both performed well ,but they had some pulling (when you give it the gas)to the right , and could not go anywhere fast ( over 15 miles an hour )with out the trucks being all over the road , my ? is whats your guys opinion on front lockers ? what to use ? whos the best ?( forget ARB to expencive... thanks Alan ...

I don't think a locker up front is a good idea or necissary. Alot of offroaders swear a locker front and rear is the only way to make it on a trail. I disagree. There is no single component that will make your rig concur a trail. It's the way the whole rig has been built that will get you thru...
I use Dana Power-Lok up front. Acts like a locker but will still slip so less parts are gonna fail. locker are hard on drivetrain componets. Yes you are gurainteed that both tires will turn but is that always good????? I think not.
The Power-Lok is the closest thing to being locked but yet not being locked.
This of course is my own .02c......

my minimal knowledge on this subject....I totally agree with burt. From what I've seen the ARB like you said is great but usually the guys that lock the front up are for mud boggs so all 4 will spin. On the rocks, you don't really need it as much, can help but will hurt you in other ways/places.
