Friend bought a K5 with a lift already installed. The front springs are level, that is no positive or negative arch. Does this equate to about a 3" lift? Is more lift required for crossover steering?

I'd think 2" at best -- stock springs are already pretty level. Depends on, as mentioned, how many leaves -- could be an add-a-leaf in there.

And I think 4" is the magic number for crossover, to clear the draglink, but you gotta do crazy stuff (i.e. bent draglink or new crossmember) anyway.

The pack has 4 thick leaves. It was supposed to be a Rancho 4" from what the seller was saying. It sure doesn't look 4", but the height is ok for his needs. I thought factory springs had a negative arch to them?

My old K5 had a 4" Rancho lift with six leafs and they looked pretty level (FLEXED LIKE CRAZY), I also thought the factory had a negative arch to them unless every one I have seen is sagging.
