Front winch bumpers, who has built their own?

Here's mine...

If I don't get any bumpers in the next month I wont get to see anything at all because I won't be driving to indiana!
 
does your shackle mounts go through and attach tot he frame or is that just a small block welded to the bumper?

They are prolly 4.5" long and go all the way through the bumper.They dont hook to the frame but they are welded front and back /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It wouldn't be a big deal had I not hacked my bumpers off already anticipating the arrival of my new ones. It is illegal to drive without bumpers and I don't have a trailer.

That said, I ordered from KMA today. My bumpers will be here in 30 days or less or I will recieve a 100% refund and have to start all over again.

Considering what I paid for them is cheaper even than the Warn Classic through my work, I think KMA is a good deal. We'll wait and see when I get them.
 
Heck, just start building. This is the 2nd thing I have ever built out of metal in my life. I don't know if you are going for looks or just function. If you want looks, it make take a little more steel and some patience, but you can do it. You'll never learn if you don't try!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

I'm hoping that my new bumpers can protect what's left of my precious sheetmetal. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif That and mount my winch and give good recovery points.

Not really going for looks, but the bumpers I've ordered are quite involved in their construction and I felt that if I didn't have someone else do it, I'd never get the time to complete them.

I still hope I can buy a welder and get to burning up some metal in the near future.
 
FWIW, it's looking like i may be sporting the stock bumpers again at the badlands run...

Hopefully you'll have better luck with KMA than most people. I remember back when Fox and many others here used to run their bumpers, but the guy had such crappy service that everyone had to switch...
