1/2 ton status
SOLD - SOLD - SOLD
Bought this '76 GMC 3/4 ton 4x4 about two years ago in Seattle. It's a good solid base for a project and it's issues are minor. It's got a SBC, TH300, NP203 combo and a four-inch lift. The transfer case was converted to part time and Warn hubs were added to the front axle.
During the drive back from Seattle a few problems popped up. The front crankshaft seal leaked a lot, so I replaced it and installed a Microseal Saver on the crank nose. The original too-short front driveshaft failed, so I had a new driveshaft of the proper length built for it, but haven't installed it yet. When I put the springs back into the hood hinges, it turned out they were in bad shape, so I bought new hinges but have not yet installed them. After a few months of driving it the transfer case started making a lot of noise, and I parked it thinking I'd swap it, but haven't gotten around to it yet. And it's sat about 18 months since then. There are some old rust fixes in the fender corners. The engine ran well when I last drove it.
It's an AC cab, but the AC components are missing and the heater controls have been hacked to a single fan switch. The interior is complete and is in pretty good shape, though the dash pad is cracked up. All the trim is there. The rear axle is a 14-bolt full floater. Camper top is in good shape, though I've removed the rack (goes with it) and sealed up the holes for it. A matching tailgate in good shape comes with the truck.

It's been sitting for 18 months in my back yard since those photos. I'm sure the gas has gone bad and both the battery and at least one tire is flat. Bring a trailer, as the transfer case is in bad shape. Located in Dallas, Texas near White Rock Lake. Has a clean Washington title. EDIT: Price is now $2000.
I've got other parts that can go with it for additional $$$. I've got an original '73 GMC grill in good shape to replace the tube grill. I've got a manual tilt column and a pedal set for a hydraulic clutch / hydro brake setup. I've also got an NP205 with adapters for the TH350 and shifter.
