Fuel cell in my 87 short box

Foam keeps it from sloshing around and also inhibits fire if the vehicle catches fire.
 
really damn. i think 20 is to small for a truck that is going to see highway use.
 
Racecars dont cover too many miles in a night. The bigger cells are going to be found at suppliers for desert racing and stuff like that. Looking at big bucks too. 20 gallon cell at 10mpg is 200 miles though.
 
ok think i am going to go with a new burban gas tank. only 135 new. will i need to move any thing uder the bed or do you think this will bolt in? thanks
 
Sorry been busy with my project and haven't been on too much. I wouldn't think you would have to remove the bed to do this swap.
 
Sounds like you should take a bunch of pics during the swap. Then make a post on it. So anyone in the future can use them for reference.
 
Thats possible. I think best way to tell would be to get the tank and see what needs done. I've only seen the finished product never one in the works.
 
mrdrinksalil how do you get that out without removing the crossmember?

im putting a blazer gas tank in the back under my real roll protecion bar!

it will be mounted in its own spill proof cell, unboltable, and also dual battry boxes to balance it out.. but will be nice to keep center of gravity down, and roll bar weighs like 200
