Anyone running a fuel cell on there 6.2 yet. Still worried about starving for fuel on the trail and having to bleed the air out of the system.

I mounted the tank from an 85 S10 blazer above the frame right behind the cab on my trail truck. I havent had any problems with fuel starvation but bleeding the system was a bitch. I installed everything new though so that would be the same as a stock system. Not really a fuel cell but close enough.

Thanks but really looking for fuel cell info. Never had a problem with the stock tank.

Not sure, don't know to much about fuel cells, not sure what type of pick up to get..... Just know I want a 30-32 gallon one.

What is a surge tank?

A surge tank is an intermediate tank that is supposed to stay full, fed by a pump off a primary tank, and is supposed to compensate for starvation moments when the vehicle is moving and fuel sloshes around.
They use it when converting an older car or truck to fuel injection and using the original non baffled gas tank.

I have a line on a 88 gal stainless fule cell from a boat, i am going to run shouldent be any starvation problems
there is another one from the same boat, i could get a hold of it.

Would be nice, 1,700 miles on one tank of diesel
but just a tad to big and heavy. Think I will stay with a 32 gallon.

Diesel is 7.3 lbs per gallon. 642.3 lbs is alittle to much for the trail rig maybe for a tow rig.
I went looking at a fuel cell today.
Used in a pontiac firebird.
The guy selling it told me it meets the standards for Camaro cup (swedish Camaro racing).
But it´s only 48 liters "small".
The fuel in that would last a day on the trails for me but I´m worried about the starvation thing too.
If it´s used in racing it would not be a problem

races dont go off camber, so it might starve.
I am going to read into multi point pick ups befor I make any desisions.

Let me know if any of you find some info, I am still looking too.
I bought that fuel cell and I have put it on my truck.
It is rather small, only 13 gallons.
I will try it the 18th Mars when I go wheeling the next time.
I´ll try to take some pics of it and tell you guys more

I dont remember if anyone has said anything about this already but does any company make a fuel cell with a pickup tube that swings freely inside the tank? So no matter what angle you are at it is at the gravitational bottom of the tank with the fuel?
