link below for pic.I was thinking of adding one of these type of housings to get a wix filter and have added protection to the fuel injection system. had a filter fail and clogged an injector. want to be able to get a replacement filter at any parts store in the country so i didnt have to wait for 3 or 4 days to get another replacement. Do you guys see a problem with this? mounted sideways?

Don't mount it sideways.
Changing that filter is gonna be a mess.
If it is a diesel, make sure the filter assembly comes with an air bleed.
Isn't there enough room to mount it upright?
I've got a filter setup like that in my 6.2 powered m1009.
But mine has an air bleed.
So after swapping filters, i can open the bleed and crank the engine over till fuel comes out the bleed.
Close it up, away i go.
Gas rigs seem to be more forgiving of air in the fuel system.

Will that handle being under pressure? Most of the installations of those are before the pump, so it’s under suction

i can get the same unit at my local napa cheeper than that .

and make sure the filter you pic goes down to 2-3 micron for efi rated use . and as said pressure of 65-70 min since some pumps do more than that before regulator .

I wouldn't put a filter ahead of the pump.
What are we talking about here, gas or diesel?
Here is what i run.
Fuel is drawn from the tank by the mechanical engine mounted lift pump.
Goes through a check valve, up into the Napa filter, then to the injection pump which is mechanical in my case.
Newer injection systems need finer filtering.. duramax etc.
My old 6.2 is plenty happy like this.

gasoline, have in tank pump ep381, it will have a 30 micron on return and the 2 micron for feed
so dont mount sideways.
im not worried about air in it just dirt, when the fuel filter failed it looked like i was trying to make mud pies in fuel filter housing

Yea, your gonna need something other than what i have.
6.2 injectors are huge.
It would take an asteroid to clog them.

was going to ask napa guys about pressure should hold but want to be sure,
and at the local napa its 40 bucks instead of 29.99 on ebay

mine are little but handheld for efi says there 80 lb an hour at 43 psi

Those are cute.
What kind of metal are they made outta?

Just funnin ya!

Here is a 6.2 diesel injector.

diesels have big injectors, under a lot more pressure right?
Yes and no.
In this case, between your Fitech and my 6.2, yes, the diesel injects under higher pressure.
But not compared to the Duramax.. those newer systems inject 10 times high pressure than mine.

Those filters aren’t under pressure from the injection pump though. I’d steer clear of the spin on filter

That filter is 2 micron.
I guess you just need to verify it'll hold the pressure.
Better go with Bent's advice.
I'm an oil burner and other rigs a q-jet.
No exp with gas efi other than snowmobiles.

i want to get a filter i dont have to wait 3 days to get a replacement, they make a wix that will hold 200 psi but cant find link for it

At some point also consider a new and clean tank is $100 or so shipped to your door. That is likely the culprit and the filter is just catching it as it come out, rather than eliminating the problem

Having said that, there are lots of AN fitting filter, but they will all have to ship

tnk is only a year and a half old, i added new lines and cleaned it when efi swap,
the only thing i could think of is the gas i have been getting is bad. walmart gas station is where i have been going it is 6 to 10 cents cheapet than others
