Fuel filter question

Was the regular filter you were using the FITech unit?

see all the crap in the housing and my brother ran his finger through it was really fine stuff
i had another filter element so i cleaned housing and reassembled to see if work properly
i haven't driven it much want better filter first dont want to mess up this thing

Is the sock on the sender?

Honestly I’d ditch that filter and look at going to a factory TPI filter. But first I’d get a couple of those 3/8” metal cheapy filters. I’d run one for several weeks, then go to the second. After that install the tpi one

sad part is sock doesnt look dirty neither does tank, wish i would have took pic
maybe i will when i put nut certs in access panel with allen head flat bolts to hold it down

will stock tpi filter hold psi of th pump it is regulated at efi unit to 43.psi?

Any “LS” truck filter should be more than adequate. You’ll just need to add a couple barbed adapters, AN or whatever to adapt to your fuel line. Also, aren’t the injectors from the 5.3LS engine? Thought I read that somewhere.

i did too but never have found anyone to verify

The injectors? I read somewhere about someone swapping them out for a FI setup.

And yes that looks like the filter on my 02 Tahoe. Couple fittings and you’ll have yourself and easily serviceable filter setup.

That's the filter I'm running with the Sniper. It was the TBI filter the factory motor was using. Once the higher pressure systems came into use all of those filters are rated for the high pressure. In other words the 89 TBI fuel filter is the same part number as a Tahoe fuel filter.

I figured if it worked for factory fuel injection it would work with aftermarket.
