ok so i am trying to complete my hydro assist and i want to use my tranny cooler for a power steering cooler. can i use regular 3/8 fuel line to go from the outlet on my steering box to the cooler then back to the pump? is there too much pressure for this?

I'll 2nd this. There is hardly any pressure on the return line at all, just a slow flow.

While you "could" use fuel hose it's not the proper hose rated for hydraulic fluid so I suggest you buy hydraulic hose. The fuel hose will deteriorate on the inside after a while and plug things up.

I've used new fuel line more than once on my plow trucks on the return line with zero issues, and one had it on it for years--if you get fuel injection hose it's got a much higher burst strength, but its costly...................................... its not that much more money for the right hose, they sell 11/32" P/S return line by the foot or in pre-cut lengths in parts stores...hydraulic "push on" hose is more costly, but works just as well if not better than the correct hose,if you dont mind paying more for it..mostly its the temparature rating that fuel line might not meet,it'll withstand the pressure fine though...Years ago,I once had to drive 100 miles home with a hunk of air hose on my P/S return line when the hose cracked on my truck, and was too short to re-use once I cut back the cracked area...somewhere in NH ,there's a self service gas station with a foot missing off its air pump hose!.
