I'm in the process of installing new fuel lines to convert my blazer to TBI. Can I just run hard lines to the engine and a return hard line back to the tank? As long as I run a vented cap can I get rid of all the vapor and vent lines? I'd like to keep it as simple as possible.......

At minimum you need to keep the overflow vent hose that attaches to the gas filler. You need a big vent for that.

I left the lines that go up inside that tube in the back of the bed, but removed the vapor canister line. Seems to be ok except for Oregon and Washington gas stations always seem to barf gas back out when the tank becomes full. CA has a vapor recovery system that seems to prevent that.

When I did the TBI, I just connected the two lines directly to the fuel cell.

Used a vented cap IIRC.

I forgot you made the trip up to my neck of the woods last year:D I was planning on still using the filler vent tube, I was hoping I could get rid of all the vent lines that run to rear of the frame. My blazer is a 70 and don't think it ever had a charcoal canister, at least not that I can remember.

:doah: sorry, thought you were meaning 'new' lines, yes I used the original vent line too.

correct... iirc, the tbi has 2 factory lines that bolt to the back of the head, and it's steelbraided from there over to the frame hardline connection...

I've got braided line to run from the engine to the the frame (hard lines).....should I run my return line back down the passenger side or the the drivers side? The return on the tank is on the driver side IIRC.....

Thanks for the link! I thought getting to flow enough air and fuel for my 406 was going to hard, I can only imagine a 500 caddy motor:D

I ran both lines down the passenger side. I don't see why you could run them on either side using the stock hardlines and just ran rubber hose to reach the return fitting on the tank.
