Who runs one permanently in their engine bay on their TBI motor? I was looking at one made by summit that I could just run inline and that way know what the pressure is at all times. Thoughts?

better than not having one for sure.... i opted for viewable while driving.... Autometer on the cowl... you can see it here...

think it ran about $75 to set that up... obviously just an adapter and small gauge on the TB is about 1/2 that, but I felt it was a worthwhile upgrade... CFM Tech has a nice TBI gauge adapter fitting....

I run one inline at the TBI, my gauge is an Autometer. I do have plans to add another one that is mounted inside the blazer so I can see it at all times.

that one from cfm tech is nice but damn they are proud of it! gonna call them tomorrow because they want $15 for shipping. Found a different one online that is for a temp fuel gauge but i want one mounted permanently

I'm running that summit one all the time. Dont' waste your time with it. It's not very accurate and was driving me nuts.

would I be alright running a 0-15psi gauge from autometer? im not doing any performance mods to my tbi so I should only be running like 13.5psi anyway. only reason i ask is because its either 0-15 or 0-100?

cool thanks gonna order it today so I can get the tbi running tip top the next couple weeks. have you had luck running a usb to serial adapter or have you run one? my ****ty laptops serial port doesnt work at all.

Yeah someone at work gave me a usb to serial adapter to use. I had to just load the driver on my laptop with the provided CD.

Be careful with the guage choice. I'm running a "stock" carbed motor that has been converted to TBI and it requires 16 psi of fuel pressure to run right.

You should never run a fuel presure gauge inside the passenger compartment unless it's eletronic and no fuel line is coming in the passenger compartment for obvious fire issues...

thus why I run mine on the cowl, isolators are pricey.. :eek1:

yea no kidding autometer wants 215 for one I can run inside. Im ok with it being in the engine bay for that price

But you can still have fuel pressure issues and not know it unless it's on your hood. Like a drop in fuel pressure at WOT!

ok if i decide to run one on the cowl like ryoken, what about snow? We get lots of the white stuff and my blazer sits outside all winter. will it mess up the gauge at all? Also I want a liquid filled one so how will it effect that?

I ran that AM liquid filled Pro Comp in a cup/pedastal for about 3 yrs as a DD and it looks/works as good as the day I bought it...
