I'm changing out the stock fuel pump on my 78 blazer w/ 350. I'm far from my truck at the moment but wanted to order the parts I need now. Replacement pump and 2 gaskets are on my list. My pump has a hard line at the bottom that feeds the carb and 2 rubber hoses. Does anyone know what ID those 2 hoses are and the approx length I need? My guess is either 1/4", 5/16" or 3/8" and I think they are 2 different sizes. Any help would be appreciated and save me some time. Thanks.

I'd say 3/8" on most trucks ,some used 5/16 too though, mostly on 2 bbl carbs..isn't much 1./4" on these trucks except for some vapor return lines and canister lines..

When I worked parts stores and someone came in looking for rubber fuel line and didn't know what size they needed,I'd sell them 5/16"..that can be forced onto a 3/8" hard line when its new and supple, and if it turned out you needed 1/4",you could clamp it on good and get by with it until you got the 1/4" hose...
I'd buy 4 feet of each ,its not that costly for regular non fuel injection hose and you might need only 2 feet, but its easier to cut it shorter than stretch if if it wont reach!..

My 78 requires a 77 fuel pump. Chevy changed the fuel lines. Mid/ early 78 the fuel line makes a 180 near the pump. So the fuel pump fitting is a a different angle. In 77 and early 78 the fuel lines do not make a 180 and thus require a different fuel pump. The fuel line to fuel pump hose should not be kinked. If it is you need the differnt pump.
