Fuel tank & pump questions for a mpfi motor in an 86 K30

I should have specified sending unit, IIRC you can see the sender, or very near it, between the bed and cab gap.

Keep us posted, always fun to have parts en route. Just like Christmas!

My new AC Delco fuel pump (EP381) showed up today.
I will say this it is almost identical to the older tbi unit.
Elect plug & output nipple is the same.

Now just have to wait on saddle tank tbi sending unit.

Yep, that is the beauty of using the EP381….they fit the same as the old TBI pumps.

Ok, took longer than expected to aquire parts (pump, sender, new saddle tank).
Plan to put altogether this evening & run temp fuel lines to fire up.
Wish me luck.

Good luck! Be sure to keep the fuel lines VERY well secured and away from the exhaust. I'm pretty anal about this stuff, but high pressure fuel and exhaust doesn't go together well. Or it does, but too well.

Well, that was easy.
Ran a temp fuel & return line.
Cranked it over a few times & it fired right up!
Couldn't run it long no serp belt, radiator or trans cooler lines.
No exhaust other than open stock manifolds.
Starting it has given me some motivation to get this truck driveable :)

did the motivation continue? ive been searching as im still not sure if i want to do the burb tank or replace both stock saddles. if i replace stock saddles i cant put a BL on. if I do sub tank I can. in NJ you need to protect the side tanks from impact.. stupid law...

Truck runs & moves, still needs a lot of little things done to get it road worthy. I bought another truck an m936a2 (5 ton military wrecker) & have been focusing on it.
Gonna try & get back on this, this summer.
