Furd Edge Fans???

Do you fellas think these fans would be comparable to the Windstar fans? They seem to be about a perfect size for our radiators. Is 3400 CFM enough for our V8's. I've got a 400sbc. Seems like a good price and very similar to the windstars setup. What do you think.

I'd be real careful.

From all accounts the Windstars move a TON of air, and I've seen 5000CFM mentioned as being about right for a small block. No idea if that's true or not, but one of the huge problems with electric fans people have, is going TOO small.

Much depends on how good of shape your cooling system is, but a 400 is going to tax any cooling system more than a 350 just due to displacement, not getting into the "400's run hot" argument, so more cooling is going to be better.

I'd probably stick with the known quantity/quality Windstars.

It would be a different story if someone actually knew the CFM of the various factory clutch fan setups, but we don't, so we are guessing as to what GM figured the minimum CFM was.

Cool, thanks. Pun intended. You are right about sticking with what is known and works. Just trying to keep my options open and gain as much knowledge when the time comes to do this type of upgrade. Thanks for the reply dyeager.
