Hi, 89 350 tbi 700r4 burb. I can't seem to locate a wiring schematic for my fuse box. My Haynes manual doesn't show the wires that feed the fuse box, which is where I narrowed my problem to. Does anyone have such a diagram that could post it up? Thanks!

If anyone cares, here is the background of the problem:

5 years ago a fusible link blew for whatever reason. I had no idea what a fusible link was but I could tell no power was getting through it to the cab, so in my ignorance I decided to bypass it with a wire to get home. I bypassed it, then some wires at the firewall going into the fuse box started burning.:doah: I towed it home and repaired the burnt wires and replaced the fusible link and all was well.

Fast forward 5 years, vehicle dies suddenly on the road. All links are good. I get a constant 12v to the tumbler but none coming out from pink IGN / ACC wire. Pink wire shows 1.5 volts with ignition on. I think the tumbler switch is bad, so I jump the 12v hot wire to the pink wire and I watch the voltage at the hot wire drop to 1-2volts.

Since all my fuses are good, this leads me to believe my ACC / IGN wire is grounding behind the fuse box (it tests fine from tumbler to fuse box). I must have overlooked something five years ago or did a poor repair job...Hence my need for a diagram. I want to know what is supposed to go where before I dive in there so I can do a better job this time around.

*edit: I just noticed the pink wire is IG1, not ACC

Ebay, you can buy original GM service manuals and wiring diagrams on there all the time

I got all the books for 1991 ( and I do mean ALL ) for 140.00 bucks shipped to Alaska.

Those are worth it too. Ive got an 89 GM manual floating around somewhere, and they make the haynes manuals look like the instructions that come in model car kits.

I am browsing the bay right now...is yours the one with the van pictured on the cover?

yep, theres manuals for the different body styles, I have all off them including the P and G series vans

Oh ok, I was thinking there was a separate one for the engine, electrical, etc. The one I am looking at covers the r/v series so I should be good with that. Its $25 shipped.

Well make sure you get both , cuz theres a service manual AND a wiring diagram there separate books I include links to both

I got both for $50! My haynes covers 25 years of truck, I am looking forward to reading repairs that aren't written for "typical" this or that...
