Hello everyone. Our K5s have 2 fusible link wires (I think) that go from the starter. One to the accesories that need the key in IGN and one for the accesories that don't. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Mine got toasted years ago and were replaced with standard wire. I want to do it right this time.

What was the original gauge that came in these fusible links?

TIA

The red one that goes to the junction block on the firewall? I blew mine as well and wired in a heavy duty wire with a built in blades fuse spot. Just another form or fusible link. But way easier to replace. I started with smaller fuses and slowly went up until they stopped blowing immediately. I run a 30amp fuse now and it works great.
