I'm not bashing zero-rates here, I would probably use them in the front if a had the need for an extra inch.
But I understand how thay could consider it a lift block.
I can't see how the fact that the centerpin goes through them changes all that much.
If the U-bolts get loose, the centerpin will probably snap anyway.
And I don't think it's completely fair to compare it to an uncut overload leaf.
When braking, the overload leaf will help against springwrap which can effect caster angle negatively,
which isn't good if you need to do an evasive manoever at the same time
but if you cut it or use a zero-rate it will worsen the springwrap due to the addad leverage.
It can't be much though, so I probably wouldn't care myself...
