Hey guys, just a small bit of help,

those of you with Outlaw II rims know they have that bead of "studs" or "bumps" for a lack of a better word around the rim, while cleaning my wheels, i noticed i am missing 5 of them from the rear passenger side. first off what are they called? and can they be replaced? the rim looks like a toothless hillbilly and i am sure is unbalanced, any insight on this? i believe they are cosmetic only and do nothing mechanical as far as i can tell. Thanks!:dunno:

There are supposed to look like rivets. I have three sets of them and have never lost any of the rivets. I would contact American racing and ask them about it or possibly replacing the wheel. I believe they are cosmetic, so no worries about driving it.

Rivets, ahh yes....... the name for some reason just would not enter my brain!! Thanks, yeah upon inspection few others are lose. Hey, this truck had i don't know how many previous owners prior, and i only know the owner from 2002+ lol so they could have come out at any time in it's 21 years of life ! I will pop them an e-mail and see if they can help.

20 years ago you could just go to your local American Racing wheel distributor and order a pack of them, my old boss lost a few, and if I remember correctly they were just a plastic or aluminum insert for cosmetic purposes.

I E-mailed them but the E-mail, apparently bounced back so i tried again, and 2 days later still no response. kinda miffed. I may just call on Monday.

If your feeling spiffy you could knock the rest of them out and replace them with bolts or allen cap bolts. That would look bad ass.

I always knocked them out of my wheels and left them out, I think it looks better with out them.

Is there anyone that lives near you, that doesn't like you?

Cuz that's the kinda thing I'd do, to drive someone nuts. :deal:

By that, I mean remove one or two a night.
Always on a different wheel.
