Garage Caught on Fire Tonight.

Thanks guys!

Spontaneous combustion of oily rags in a PLASTIC trashcan. The chemicals started melting the plastic until there was a flashpoint and that's when the fire started.

MY spreadsheet went ALOT higher than the 10k and my adjuster did not pro-rate alot, but he did refuse to apy for any of my aftermarket parts, unless they were duplicates.

More work today after work:

yea my garage got broken into, they took all my air tools, a chainsaw, & a bunch of other stuff, including a new cam & intake, headers, & a brand new set of 39.5 tsl's on steel 15x10 rims, my adjuster told me he couldn't pay for any kind of auto parts, unless they were taken off a vehicle! no vehicle parts just sitting in shop could be paid for! ooo, i was PO'd!

While it really depends on your individual policy, but my homeowners policy has coverage for personal property. It's always a good idea to talk to your agent.

Personal property does not cover auto parts UNLESS you add it to YOUR policy.

That is what we are trying to say.

Come awn, read what we type and think about it!

Well, things are really looking up this past few weeks.

We started tearing down the garage. I finally got it cleaned and all of the good stuff removed and put on a 20' trailer I picked up two weekends ago for $300!

I also decided to scrap, no pun intended, a bunch of metal that I have been holding onto, for the Suburban and for fab purposes. I loaded it and all of the burnt wire and all of the alluminum siding onto my buddy's 16' flatbed trailer and we are taking it to a recycling yard to get beer money!

I got $135!

On top of that my son has really bounced back and so has my wife.

We went and looked at dog's and fell in love with a 9 week old lil boxer. She's a beaut!

Inspector came out and determined that I have completed 95% of the repairs from Hurricane IKE, yet I have onlly used 40% of the money!!!!!!!!!!

My wife has a lead on a job.

The garage is actually on the ground now and I am hauling the rest of the bad wood to the dump.

YEAH!

Nope, I am the contractor and I haven't paid myself.

But I did get the concrete degreased and powerwashed.

Time to etch and epoxy.

Well, I have not updated this in 10 months, and a few things have changed.

I got a nice wood workbench built and it is a beast! Used the leftover burnt wood.

Built the garage, filled it with hardwood cabinets, SS table Scat Blast MEdia blaster....

The biggest change, is that I bought a Soda Blaster attachment for my abrasive blaster AND a.........

Quincy TRUE 5hp 175 psi 60 gallon 2 stage single phase 15.2 cfm Air Compressor. The best splash lubricator Compressor money can buy.

They are building it as we speak and I should be getting it in about 4 weeks.

I did however sell my tubing bender, but it is worth it!

Cheers!

Thanks again guys and gals!

good to hear that your doing alright. I know it sucked balls when my garage burnt down due to a wood stove. luckily i had taken a break for lunch and say the smoke and ran out and saved pretty much everything

Yep fires suck, we had a house fire a couple years back, sucked when we were going through it been back in our house for just over a year and we came out pretty good on the whole deal

Because of our fire though I am slowly inventorying everything in my garage

I do!

I got a call today that the semi truck that originally was delivering the compressors was in a SEVERE accident and it actually turned over.

Instead of returning the load back to the companies of origin, they went ahead and delivered all of the damaged merchandise.

I will be getting a new one very soon.
