Gas cans - recommendations

Not my pics, but this is seems to work with the Specter gas cans, as they have an internal thread:

I hate to say it, but I really like the No-Spill cans with the button on the back end of the spout.
However only for my tractor. Its got a more or less flat top hood, with the fill cap coming out the top. I just take off the cap, sit the diesel can on the hood and lean it over until the little hook on the spout is resting on the lip of the fill spout.
Nothing spills while I am doing that.
Then, I just press the button and wait for the tank to fill up.
When the can gets low enough that it quits running, its low enough to be easy to pick up and tilt.

I doubt that I would like it if I were trying to fill a truck tank. Might be OK if there was a good leak-proof extension of some kind.
It does flow very well even without a vent. They managed to design the spout so it lets air in and fuel out at the same time.

There is another type of pushbutton can out there now.

It must be a very remarkable can. Its one of the few products that got 100% bad reviews on Amazon!

It really makes you wonder, if its that bad, and it seems to be really awful, how something like that ever got into production.

I use the LC2 cans...similar to VP, just they sell them at cyclegear. They are called a utility jug here due to regulations...blah blah...I have a couple of them.

In early 2000's, the California Air Resources Board showed up at a District 37 AMA race and wrote $50 tickets, per can, for anyone with non CARB approved gas cans. Our team loaded all of ours in my enclosed trailer and a wife drove my truck away while they were writing them. We had 22 of them. I asked the BLM ranger if it was cool for them to do it on BLM land. He was already checking on it. Nope. they have to notify the feds 30 days in advance. He had a chat with the CARB guys and they left. Had already written 30+ tickets. Never heard if anyone paid them. Never saw them again.

This one? https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/p...on-military-style-diesel-can-epa?cm_vc=-10005

Not sure how much it matters, but that appears to be modified from the "true" cans the military uses. Definitely the wrong spout (the style everyone hates, as you spill more than with the old ones, and they are a hassle to use), and while hard to tell from the pic, appears to have a MUCH smaller fitting for the spout.

Yep, that one. Of the new style spouts. I like those the best. Plus if I'm dumping the whole can. I pull the spout and use a funnel.
