When I hit the gas at an idle it doesn't have much of a response I was hoping you guys can maybe give me a elimination check list I can go through to find out whats wrong? The only things I can think of is timing, fuel filter and air filter. what else can I do to get more response?

1976 k5, 350 4x4 , the carb that on it is a Quadrajet wit a number on it that says 7045213..

Is that what you need? also is this a decent carb? How can I get more info on this carb?

What size tires do you have? What axles? What gears are in em?

bogging out??..

If it wants to die or bogs out on acceleration,it could be the accelerator pump isnt working right..if it just feels "flat" upon acceleration,it might be the secondary air valve butterfly isn't opening (on a Q-jet)...and all the usual stuff like timing being retarted,etc--also make sure the centrifical advance weights, and vacuum advance are working in the distributor(if it has a vacuum canister)......vacuum leaks are a definate possibility also,as already mentioned..

Is this just when the engine is cold or is it happening after it warms up?
