Gas tank swap-ability

I have a 31 gallon tank from my 89 k5 which is TBI
I also have a 23 gallon from my 73 Jimmy which is non TBI
can I use the 31 in the 73 with out any issues?
And in hopes of re selling the 89 with the 23 gallon tank in it, will it work?

LMC has different numbers for 73-86 (carb), 87, and 88-91.

I know the fittings are different for carb and TBI, but I thought you might be able to switch the whole sending unit out. Looks like no, though; sorry.
