gauge lights went out one evening on my ways home but then came back on the next morning on my way to school. about a week later then gauge lights go out again and there happens to be a cop following me a i can't tell how fast i'm going :doah:. head lights, marker lights, tail lights, back up lights, under dash light all work, so i checked the fuses and there aren't any blown. i didn't think it could be a ground since all of the other lights aren't affected just the gauge cluster. what else can i check. need to get this fixed so i can tell how fast i'm going without a flash light:doah:.

well it doesnt seem like anyone knows, so my 2 cents is maybe the circuit board...possibly a short on the circuit board. so its just taking the power somewhere else?

Maybe it's in the light switch itself. Like maybe a wire or circuit going to the guage lights is bad.

On the back of the cluster, at the top right there is a light with a ground wire connected to it. This provides the ground for the gauge lights, and it can be broken or loose. Pretty easy to fix, just pull the cluster and check the wire, it will probably have broken solder, and be hanging loose, or may not be connected any longer. Ground is supplied from this point to all the lights.

If that ground light isnt' the problem, try a new headlight switch. They're like $16, and cause all sorts of wierd stuff when they go out.
