I pulled the cover on the 14 FF and heres the numbers:
2 GM 3992484 11 41 9 77
is it 41 / 9 for 4.56's ?
or 41 / 11 for 3.73's ?

I *think* its 41/11 for 3.73's, manufactured in 9 (Sept) of '77.

Mine was much like that on my Dana 60 ring gear..........mine was built in '78..............

Jeremy...I run 36's with 3.73's and a SM 465. It's not that bad, a hair 'tall' for the street but it wheel's just fine. My cruise RPM is about 2500 (70 mph)on the freeway.

Anyways by "tall" are you talking tires or gears. I assume gears and that RPM's are a little to high for the street. In that case just get a "tall"er lift and "tall"er tires and rpms with drop

Well 4.10's would be perfect for the 36's and the 4 speed. No sense in makin the swap from 3.73's though.

The gears are a bit tall for the tire size. With a better clutch I'd prolly not notice as much but my clutch chatters a bit. Personally I think the cruise rpm on the freeway is close to ideal.
