I have a jeep dana 44 front that I can not sell so I am gonna remove the gears from it and toss the rest of it. What all do I have to do to be able to take the gears out of it?
Drain the lube, pull the cover, remove the nut and input yoke, pull the axles, remove carrier bearing bolts, pull carrier and ring gear as a unit, remove pinion and gear.
Putting everything back together is a whole different/difficult story.

does anyone have another F#@d that I can park on?
Loosen the ring gear bolts off while its in the truck..they are likely reverse threads, all the ones I have taken apart so far are, but they are all corporate 7.5" and 8.5" rears. The ring gear bolts are really on there, and no fun to remove from a greasy carrier that has no handles
