So a friend of mine recently bought a k30 dually with the diesel/turbo 400, np205. but what was interesting was 2 and yes 2 gear vendor overdrive splitters attached. anyone know about these or how much they can increase mileage? ill get pics if i can.

RPM reduction and more gears is how they help mileage.

You get extra gears when up shifting and then a final overdrive vs the 1 : 1 of a turbo 400, 2 seems excessive though

Go to thiere site. ALl the info you need. They do work great. I know several guys running them in tow rigs. My buddy has one in his 66' Chevelle with a manual 4 speed behind a 540in Merlin block with Dart Alumin heads cranking out 625 hp and 685 ft lbs of torque.

ya thing is, friend bought the rig for 2k, has a dana 60 front, 14b dually rear. custom flatbed, is a CC. and 6.2 diesel. so i will try to convice him to let me have 1 of the 2 GV overdrives. would be nice to get better milage in my truck so i can justify my wheelin trips

HELL YEAH! If he will see you one for a smokin deal that would be awesome. There like 1500 or 1800 bucks then you have to buy the adaptor for your vehicle.

have you seen them where there are 2 in it end to end after the transfer case? that was the strange part to me. 1 is normal. 2?

In a 2wd 1ton extended cab duelie with a 454 th400 I was getting 15mpg in stop and go traffic with one gear splitting.

In that truck, two underdrive units would be completely useless. If it really has two, getting rid of one would definitely be a good idea.

the adaptors can be long and look like 2 .

and you better have a adaptor to get a new one from them. thay do a swap out deal i have been told . vary weired on there sales of the broduct.
