How I ever lived without one of these I will never again know!

After picking up my 383 from a friend's shop last week, I dropped it off the engine stand a few days later . Damn thing was so old and worn out that when you turned or pushed on the engine at all, it would slide out of the neck a good 1/2" at a time. So finally I failed to notice, and crash. So I flipped and hit my computer to order one of these bad boys. Put it together and threw my engine on it tonight. Must have spun the engine over 10 times just for the hell of it. Even with a 68:1 ratio, it still went quicker than monkeying around with my old stand did. :haha:

Please tell me you didn't drop your engine off the old stand? If so you better check things out real good where ever it hit/landed. The last time i had a customer drop one it bent the flange on the back of an $800.00 steel crank. :doah:

luckily all that bent was rocker studs. As far as I can tell. No other impact signs and from looking at it on the ground, that was all that hit.

$241.55 list from Matco :) For a quality engine stand with a warranty that alone isn't bad in my mind. We have a drain pan that sits right on the legs of it too and holds up to 10 qts. Need to get myself that for tear down work.

I am tempted to order a second one. Have a few other engines I could be tinkering with while this one is in limbo. And with the folding up, I can just store them in a corner later. And I can always sell one as used on the truck later... Think I just talked myself into it.

Good gawd that would be sexy! If only I could find a set of junk 7.17 gears somewhere.

Is that thing oped or locked, Detroit or ARB in it :D :haha::haha:I want one, I dont need one, but I want one.
