Wasilla AK,
They Take a Different bulb, apparently the same style as the IFS trucks which you can only service by replacing the whole twist in socket...........................

I didn't find this out until AFTER I pulled all the bulbs out of there sockets . I made them work for now but I went to the dealer and ordered new ones at the cost of 5.70 a piece :doah:

Are you referring to the twist in socket bulb units in the back of the dash? yours are one piece? cause the bulbs in mine are removable.

I did come across some all in one units on my brothers early 2000 model Saturn L series, the 3rd brake light has these, and i don't remember right off but he bought a package of like 10 for about $12 or so.

2003 SATURN L SERIES 2.2L 2198cc 134cid L4 FI (F) [L61] DOHC : Electrical-Lamp & Socket : High Mount Brake Light

They're identical to the twist plug and 194/168 bulbs in the dash cluster, except the bulbs in these are not removeable.

When ever I got to picknpull I fill my pockets with these. I have a whole drawer in my scrounge box full of them.

hmm.....i just replaced most of the bulbs in my '90. i was wondering why i had a few broken ones at first . the local auto parts guy never seen them before, but they had them for $3. grey and blue ones.

My 90 Burb has the removable bulb type, cuz I tried to use those sockets BUT they are larger and wont twist into my 91 gauge cluster

admitting to stealing :doah:

Not at all, Pick-N-Pull charges and entry fee into their yards and he's just taking what he "paid for". :deal: :D

If you ever visit a Pick-N-Pull if you look at the receipt when you buy something they also charge you sales tax on the entry fee (at least they used to here).

Same here. Have to pay $2 just to walk into the yard (Colo).

The yards I frequent now inspect your toolboxes and want you to empty your pockets before leaving...used to be they didn't care if you took things like fuses, bulbs, etc, and most will still give them to you,as long as you SHOW them to the guy at the cash register!..if you get caught trying to sneak out with something though, you will be banned from the yard, even if its a "trinket" that would likely have just been put in the crusher...

I went to a junkyard not long ago, when my mothers Caravan had its distributor cap get a crack and it started skipping..--a new cap would cost nearly 30 bucks, the rotor was ten!..I had little cash, plus the parts stores would have to order it--so I went and got a used one!--found one that looked recently replaced ,and when I took it to the guy at the office, with the rotor,he said "Man--if your buying THAT here, you MUST be hurtin!..he shooed me away, and said "Have a nice day!"--Ithanked him,and then he told the two forieners behind me to empty their pockets and looked in their toolboxes--he found about 50 fuses, bulbs, relays, and computer sensors--and most of the sensors were taken from engine awaiting delivery that were SOLD already!..needless to say, they wont be coming back there!..as I was walking to my car,I heard the guy say to his partner "call the cops"!....
