Gen 6 Big Block vs. LS for low end torque.

8.1's with Allison's can't get the TM turned off from what feedback I got. CaptRon had a guy locally try to turn it of on his 8.1 2500hd. Couldn't do it. Or I guess I should say the guy that did the tuning couldn't. That same guy turned it off on his 2500 Yukon, but those came with 4L80e transmissions.

People wonder why Larry and my 8.1s run a cable throttle that 8.1s never used from the factory. Torque management is one. Second is there is less to fail in the boonies.
Allison trans can have the torque management disabled, just not as simple. EFI Live or similar full unrestricted tuning software is necessary.

Obviously I'm sold, as I pulled the 6.0 out of my 2500 Suburban in favor of an 8.1.

Is there a turbo LS yet? This is another answer, as the new DI turbo motors do so much. The 4-banger in my little Caddy makes like 260 lb-ft at 1500RPM.

I'm going straight for twin turbo big block when I finally use turbos. Why not, more power with the same fuel... :D
