give me ideas

this truck is all I have, no fun rigs for me...and most **** is outta control with pricing for rigs around here, including quads (would be nice), trail rig, motorcycle etc

I thought you had a blazer??? Confusion :doah:

sellings not an option unless you wanna pay the other 9500 left on it.

I DD it.

Ive been looking for something, but people want jacked up prices around here in the tri-state area

so the only thing i got is this truck with an identity crisis, and I dont know if i could be happy just having a quad for a toy

lets just say your black blazer; here in Mass, in good shape, would warrant people wanting between $5k-$10k, when the blazer in my avatar (the one i had) cost me $2200 just a few years ago, now it would go for $5k (with 30f, 700r4, 208 combo)

Trim is stuck on with 2 side tape. We take it off all the time a buddys sign shop. Heat gun and 3M addhesive remover. Light heat gun don't boil paint.

Back window sticker.

Oh and I forgot the mud flaps nix those too.

Not so much a murder because it a light color. But definatly clean up the lines.

luckily the mud flaps are already off

sticker on the windshield? how would that look with the rear windows tinted? would people be able to see it?

Does a thread on sticker location and visibility in the garage warrant bringing out the ban stick?
Shesh as if ck5 doesn't already have a soft reputation when it comes to tech.

No ban, its still a build item...icing on the cake, loyalty to the cause

this is an all around build thread

and i didnt bring it up

I would nix the bug masher and side window air dam things.

Light color or silver on rear glass decoration.

I think the newer chevy's look much better "undressed". I wish the didn't put that semi front bumper on but I think you can pop loose the air dam.

Just clean on that body style.

I'd lose everything plastic stuck to the sheetmetal, put some good looking wheels on it with some mud terrains and drive it. Or rip everything out and put some real running gear under it and wheel it. But probably the first one.

Heres some pics of the truck now after removeal of some of the items

I like your truck,

i would like some specs that you have. like what lift, tires, what kinda clearance you have under the truck? rough cost? any performance upgrades? what kinda time frame it took you?

modifications to put the lift on etc.

Truck specs... 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71

-6" Pro Comp Suspension Lift and torsion keys for about 7" of total lift
-35x12.50x17 BFG Mud Terrains on Mickey Thompson Classic Lock 17x9 rims
-Superchips Power Programmer
-K&N cold air intake kit
-MSD Coils
-4:56 gears front and rear with an Eaton Posi in the rear
-Flowmaster cat-back exhaust

Truck has 120,000 on the 5.3L and still runs like a dream. Purrs down the highway with the 35's and 4:56's. Still rides great on the road and the highway. Biggest difference I saw after the lift and tires was that the steering felt heavier than it was stock but nothing dramatic. Gas mileage suffers a bit but I didn't build it to be economical. It averages about 11.5 in town and 12 to 14 on the road. I don't hesitate to drive it on long trips if I have the money for gas.

The purpose of the truck was not to be a wheeler but to be a good looking and comfortable daily driver that can double as a light trail and hunting rig if necessary. It still gets used to pull trailers and haul trash to the dump. Not too tall to jump in and out of as I'm only 5'7" with my boots on! :haha:

I drive a few different vehicles on occasion that belong to my parents, girlfriend, mine etc... Stock '98 Z71 extended cab, '04 Chevy Crew Cab 2500 4x4 Duramax, 2007 GMC Acadia, 2012 Honda Civic, and even my old '87 Blazer. Out of all of them I simply love my truck. It runs good, looks good (in my opinion), drives great, has ice cold AC is still completely functional as a truck and fits through drive through car washes.

In total I'd say I have between $5K to $6K tied up in everything over about a 6 year span. I've got some money tied up in it but love every minute of it and I'm divorced anyway so no one to yell at me about it anymore! :thumb:

Here are a few more pics...

Thats a pretty truck right there

my truck came factory with a K&N filter system
flow master already done
already have some sort of program on the motor

was the 4.56 gears necessary?

was the lift a bolt on? or did you have to cut ?

did you upgrade steering components?

Turbo'd 5.3's run really good..............just sayin

The truck came factory with 3:73's. I drove it for about three years in regular drive around town and in overdrive on the freeway and highway without any major issues. I like things to be done right though and had always planned on gearing it. If I drove the truck on the freeway in overdrive at 60 to 65 the tranny would hunt from 3rd to 4th with the slightest ammount of extra load like an overpass.

Your truck may have 4:10's in it factory and you may be just fine.

The lift required one bracket to be cut off the frame and one other small bracket to be welded in place to reinforce the steering.

Other than the steering plate I have not made any other modifications to the steering. The truck has 120,000 miles on it with all factory steering components that are just now starting to show some signs of slight play and wear. For that matter the factory front brakes are still on the thing.

That is one more thing to mention. I have factory brakes on the truck and it takes a little more to stop it than when it was stock but thats to be expected from a lifted truck. If I'm not mistake you said your's already has a brake upgrade so all the better.

I'm not a fan of cutting parts off the frame or any part of my truck for that matter but I looked past that in this case and I'm glad I did.

my truck has 3.42 gears and its a 4 speed no overdrive 1:1 final drive also has a stall converter

but ive got 425 or so hp.. posi rear end

Im not a fan of turbos, I would supercharge it before turboing it. so many more issues with a turbo then supercharger.

blocks in the rear?

did you have to get different offset wheels? or could you use stock
