Glamis / sand specific

I play in the sand every chance I get. My limit is the HP. Enough HP to spin paddle tires in the rear is optimum. The good suspension is needed to keep the monentum up.

But you can spend all day in the sand just cruising around. The fun for me is the challenge of getting around. I can't go straight up the big stuff, but I've been known to fry a PS pump in the sand.

I should say I had my wife and her dog with me, so I had to take it easy. First 1/2 was in 2 high, then in the middle I put it in 4low. Worked much better. And 36 psi in the tires. Going to 20psi works sooo much better, but we had to drive it home.

Sponsoredbydad'a rig is the best leaf sprung dune runner around these parts.

I'm working on mine being the 1985 version of his.

Well.. So horeypower is #1 then suspension? Could one get by with some soft 6 inch lift springs and decent shocks? Bilsteins or something?

how fast you wanna go + how smooth you want it to be = how much $$$ you need to spend

Tuff country good? Theirs are 495 inlbs vs bds 550 for their 6 inch front springs

The Tuff Country Ez-Rides are a popular choice around here for the spring rates. They provide a decent ride it seems. however, if you really want the best out of your lead springs, a custom set through ORD would be your best call like Deuling did.
