glove box lock/latch - locking vs non-locking?

My glove box latching mechanism broke. Mine was non-locking (no keyhole)


In the major catalogs I can only find locking latches.... can I assume my non-locking latch was aftermarket? Anyone know where I can find another non-locking latch?


For those of you with keyed.... do you need the key to open glove box every time?

Non locking was standard factory issue.
