Alrighty, I have had the hotrod about two weeks and have been doing some work on it. When starting the beast the glow plug light comes on as it should, however after it is running the glow plug relay and light continue to kick on then off at about 10 to 30 second intervals. Is this normal? If not got any advice.....Thanks

You have a correctly functioning glow plug system. When cold the glow plugs are meant to cycle before starting, then after it starts they will cycle a couple of more times to help things along. Probably an emissions requiremnt back in the day, seeing as it would help limit unburnt fuel while the motor warms up.

Yup what Rene said.

If you don't want them to keep cycling after it cranks you can wire them up to come on manually. All you have to do is take the blue wire running from your glo plug controller (Drivers side top rear of engine) and run it through your firewall to a switch that will ground the wire.

Be sure that you don't fire the glo plugs any longer than the controller would if it were hooked up if you have old style single coil glo plugs.

All of this info can be found in the diesel section if you need to research more.

Thank you gentlemen you have made my day. This was a beach vehicle so there are quite a few problems, so this not being a problem is great news.
