I recently came across a paint chip page for 1978 GM trucks. On the back is the paint code option for the hardtops.
1972-1976 Chevrolet Blazer
PPG - Ditzler
White DDL-0845
Black DDL-9405
Reduce with DX-1507 Texture Additive
According to a Jeep manual...
Wash the top with mild soap and water solution.
Scuff sand the surface with a 3M Scotch Brite Pad.
Wash the top with a wax and grease remover (Ditziers DX-330 Acryli-clean, Dupont Prep-Sol or equivalent).
Apply two single wet coats of Ditzlers Epoxy Chromate Primer DP-40/401 per labeled instructions.
Color coat the surface with semi-gloss acrylic lacquer.
NOTE: If the top is repaired and the texture has been removed, a texture additive such as Ditzlers DX-1507 can be added to the paint and applied to the repaired area.
