I know the concept of lowering a truck isn't so common on here, lol. But,
I'm trying to lower my 95 2wd Suburban 2500.
And it seems to be a bastard child to the lowering world :dunno:.
What I need to know is if anyone has lowered a 2wd 3/4 ton gmt400? Or if someone knows if the 3/4 ton and 1 tons of that era used the same parts up front. Like spindles, brakes, ball joints, etc.

I can find drop spindles for the 1 ton trucks. But when I look up 3/4 ton it all has a fine print that says "fits 6 lug models only". I have the 8 lug, so I'm kind of unsure.
I don't want to drop $400 on spindles just to find out the 1ton stuff doesn't work lol.
I tried parts store cross checking on stock parts and I didn't find anything that made me feel better about it.

Springs all say "will not work with diesel engine", or something to that effect.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I figured it out. I looked through summit before. But they didn't have the same part listed for both trucks. Now they do.

I was looking under c2500 suburban.
Not just c2500.

They are the same as the c3500.

:saweet::woot:

The KaleCo kit is universal:

Lol.... I actually looked that up for a bit trying to find it, before I noticed the nails :doah:

:haha:

Not the 3/4-1 tons. Half ton does

That's what I was starting to think about. I was looking at just cutting a coil up front.

Then removing a leaf and doing my own extended shackles for the rear.
Rear in mine is super stiff.
I'm doing a couple hundred + pound speaker setup back there though... So I'm waiting till that's done before I touch it.

Have you had any ride, or alignment issues? Heard stories about cutting coils.

I've read the ride will be firm, but it's about the same. I put new shocks on it as well, trimmed the bump stop cause was bout an inch away already. I could be a touch stiffer, since it bounces kinda when hit a decent bump. The rear is just a lowering shackle, since the springs are sagging. Truck has 205k on it, and think they springs/suspension needs an overhaul. I plan on putting stock springs up front and get lowering shackles, but works for now. Since that pic was taken the rear has come down lil more. I did shackle on one side, other side rusted to shit and wouldn't come up. Had to take it a garage. Now has a better stance to it. Also put a rear sway bar on it. Supposedly trucks that came with a rear bar, has a slightly smaller front bar than trucks that came with just a front. So mine should be a touch bigger. Dunno if it made a difference or not, but I can't stay in the seat going around corners....Plus, if don't like the ride or how the cut coils work, easy to replace from a truck.

I think I'm still going to do the spindles.
I want 4", and the spindles are 3". So I may end up with 1" lowering coils too.

Not sure why it never dawned on me to look up c2500 pickup stuff lol.
I'd look up 2500 burb... Then cross reference to c3500 truck and got no where.

Cutting the coils is a cheap easy way to lower it. Mine was sitting lower in the rear before I put the shackles on it and was driving me nuts. And can't afford spindles right now...
