Going to go look at this '75 this weekend. Any advice?

Yeah Craig's was a rare find indeed. It was pretty much in mint condition. If I remember right Craig's was a '73 single tone. I think he did the plasti-dip white to make it two tone. That way he could always just pull the white off and go back to the original color. Of course, Craig paid quite a bit more than $1500 too. In the long run though he's way ahead.
Yes this is correct. Plasti-dip is still on and holding up well (of course, not driving it in winter helps with that...).

cut out rust holes ,fill w/ fiber glass ,bondo over fiberglass ,repaint or better yet match up paint best you can-flip it for 2500 , you could probably get more for one than that fin IL,cause you just don't see them here anymore. I just bought a 1984 c10 long bed from one of my brother's old friends for $900.00. I cut out the few rust holes it has and filled it with fiberglass and bondo. Sprayed the thing with Rustoleum sunrise red! wet sanded it .looks real good.Iknow it would have been better to weld in patch panels from LMC TRUCK but I wanted to do it cheap. Just don't use spray cans, cause its hard to hide the spray pattern. use a cheap spray gun with the widest spray pattern width you can buy.Use something in the holes to fill them before you use fiberglass, I used galvanized or aluminum screen from an old screen door. You can use b ondoglass from Wal-Mart-just don't use bondo -use ahigher quality plastic filler like Dolphin Glaze or something similar.I have gotten so many complements with my c-10,and when Itell people Iused Rustolem they can't believe it. I got an offer for 1800 but Ihad to turn it down cause its my only vehicle I got goin right now. When the time is right Iwill sell for2500.00 on cl.

whats it look like under neath? You probably know under neath the tailgate is another problem under the floor.take a magnet to her .it must be worse in person than in pictures or else you would have bought it. those 73-75 full convertible ones a lot of people want. You know that a regular truck cab would bolt right on there , but Idon't think it's that far gone to do that to it yet.Hows the frame? steering box mount cracked?

If it's as good in person as in pics, my advice would be- buy it!!!!! I've seen a lot rougher ones go for more around here!

Glad you are catching it before paint so you can see all its issues- if PO was stripping stuff off for paint without having done any rust repair, I'd wager he was thinking about doing some sketchy patch jobs just to get it to look okay with new paint rather than real repairs! Funny sketchy body "repair" I've seen recently was crushed cans of Busch used as a backing for bondo in rusted out rockers, LOL! (seen plenty of newspaper and screen but never crushed beer cans)
