I've had the same windshield in my truck since '93 and it didn't even have a chip in it...until today. I needed to remove it to swap windshield frames. I bought the correct tool, pulled the gasket rope thing out and ran the tool around the glass once. At that point all was good. I then gently began trying to work the glass out of the gasket and almost had it...then the beotch cracked on the drivers side (of course)/forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif
I'll prolly throw it back in when I'm done and get a new one in a couple of months as long as I don't make it worse putting it back in. I'm not holding my breath though, once they're cracked it's really hard to keep them from getting worse.
