Good Deal? 1990 K5?

So I was looking for a solid tailgate for my '89 K5 that is 99% restored and ran across this truck on craigslist. It had a fuel line leak, passenger/rear window didn't work, and floor boards are rusted in the typical spots that need to be replaced. It runs and drives...motor has over 200k miles on it and it smokes alittle. Guy wanted $1500 for it but I offered him $500 and he took it. Good deal?

Looks pretty straight. Plus it has some good features that would be easily parted out if desired. '90 grill, serp belt setup, etc.

C'mon, you know you did good. You just posted it as a question so you could gloat modestly...didn't ya.

I figured I got a decent deal but it does need a lot of work with the rust and all. I could always part it out too. For now my 18 yr old boy is loving it...more than his Celica. Nice to see the younger generation still interested in these trucks. So far I removed the running boards, broken wind deflector, fixed the passenger window, mud flaps, grab handles, fixed fuel line, bulbs, rattling door mirror. Picture as it is today since getting it last Friday.

500 for a running moving 4x4 is always a good deal. You could part it out for more than that. Give it to the kid and get rid of the ricer to fix it up.

If he wanted to start with all that, he would need to have scored a great "steal" from a non member who didn't know what they had...

I've see a couple on here that make you think " Why can't I find something that good"! For cheap!!

500 for anything running is a good deal, if it drives, so much the better!

I paid $800 for my 89 k5. Granted it only had about 87k miles but the body was so rusted it was ready to fall off. So I say you got a great deal!!!
